WhatsApp Business Platform
The WhatsApp Business API lets a business send approved template messages and hold two-way conversations at scale, unlike the single-phone WhatsApp Business app. Slovio, a Meta Business Partner, connects your number through embedded signup and adds templates, broadcasts, Flows, catalogues, a shared inbox and AI Agents.
WhatsApp at a glance
Meta sets the rules for the WhatsApp Business Platform. Slovio builds them into every send and reply.
Side by side
The free app suits one person answering a few chats. The API is what a team uses to message customers at scale, with automation and a CRM behind it.
| Compare | Business API on Slovio | WhatsApp Business app |

How it works
Connect through Meta’s own signup flow, automate the conversations, then measure what each send achieved.
Run Meta’s embedded signup from the channels screen and submit your first templates for approval.
Put an AI agent on the number, build Flows and workflows, and schedule broadcasts to CRM segments.
Track sent, delivered, read and failed messages and spend in Analytics, and each broadcast’s statistics.
Use cases
Support, sales, marketing and notifications share one WhatsApp number, each with its own workflow and owner.
The AI agent answers common questions. Anything else reaches a teammate with the full conversation attached.
Click-to-WhatsApp ads open a chat that an AI agent qualifies and routes to the right salesperson.
Send an approved Marketing template to a segment. Every reply lands in the Team Inbox, assigned and ready to answer.
Automation sends Utility templates for confirmations, reminders and receipts the moment an event occurs.
Part of the platform
What happens on WhatsApp joins the same contact record as every other Slovio channel, so your team sees one history per customer.
The WhatsApp Business app runs on one phone and suits a small business replying by hand. The API, which Meta calls the WhatsApp Business Platform, has no app of its own: it connects your number to software such as Slovio, so several teammates and AI Agents can reply at once, and approved templates can reach large lists of opted-in customers.
With Slovio, you start Meta’s embedded signup from the channels screen in your dashboard. It runs inside Meta’s own sign-in window, where you confirm your business account and phone number with Meta directly. The connected number then appears in Slovio, ready for templates, broadcasts and AI Agents. Slovio is a Meta Business Partner, so no separate developer setup is needed.
Slovio supports all three WhatsApp template categories defined by Meta: Marketing, Utility and Authentication. You can add buttons or build carousel templates, then submit each template to Meta for approval from the Slovio dashboard. Meta reviews and categorises every template, and only approved templates can be used to start a conversation.
When a customer messages your business on WhatsApp, Meta opens a 24-hour customer service window in which you can reply with free-form messages. Outside that window, a business must use an approved template to contact the customer. Slovio AI Agents and your team reply freely inside the window, and Slovio broadcasts use approved templates.
The cost has two parts on Slovio: a plan fee for the platform, and usage paid from a prepaid wallet. Meta prices each template message by its category and the customer’s country, so a campaign’s cost depends on its template and audience. Every deduction appears in your Slovio wallet beside the campaign it belongs to. See the pricing page for current plans.
Slovio can run a linked fallback campaign on RCS for the contacts a WhatsApp broadcast did not reach. The fallback campaign is created separately and priced at RCS rates, so each channel is billed for what it sends. Campaign fallback in Slovio runs between WhatsApp and RCS only; SMS is not used as a fallback channel.
Connect your number, send your first approved template and let an AI agent handle the replies.
