Developers
Send messages, start calls and manage contacts from your own systems.
An omnichannel messaging API lets developers reach customers on several channels from their own software. The Slovio REST API sends WhatsApp templates and manages contacts over HTTPS, and webhook steps notify your system when a workflow runs. Create an API key in your workspace settings and keep it on your server, never in client code.
curl -X POST "$SLOVIO_API_URL/v1/whatsapp/messages" \

Get started
Generate a key in your Slovio workspace settings and store it on your server, never in client-side code.
Use any language that can make HTTP requests. Start by sending a single message.
Add a webhook step to a workflow so your system is notified when something happens.
Webhooks
Add a webhook step to a Slovio workflow, and Slovio posts the event to your endpoint as JSON when the workflow runs.
Illustrative event names and payloads.
Build with AI
Give your AI coding assistant the Slovio API reference and describe the task in plain English. Review the requests it drafts before running them. Paths shown are illustrative.

Send order_confirmed on WhatsApp to every contact who paid today.
Draft requests
GET /v1/contacts?segment=paid-today
POST /v1/whatsapp/messages × 186
Draft ready: fetch the segment, then send the template to each contact. Review it before running.
Yes. Slovio provides a REST API that your own software can call over HTTPS, authenticated with API keys you create in your Slovio workspace. Developers use it to send messages and manage contacts from their own systems. The Slovio API reference in the documentation lists every available endpoint, request field and response.
With Slovio, create an API key in your workspace settings, then send an HTTPS request from your server with the key, the recipient’s number, an approved WhatsApp template and its variables. The Slovio API reference lists the exact endpoint and fields; the request shown on this page is illustrative. Meta must approve a template before it can start a conversation.
Create one in your Slovio workspace settings, where keys are also revoked, and send it with each API request. Store each key on your server rather than in client-side code or a public repository, and revoke any key you believe has been exposed, then issue a replacement.
Slovio sends webhooks from Automation: add a webhook step to any workflow, and Slovio posts JSON to your endpoint whenever that workflow runs, so any trigger that can start a workflow can notify your system. Webhooks also work the other way, where an incoming HTTP request starts a workflow in Slovio. This lets your systems react to customer activity in Slovio, and lets events from your own applications trigger messages, calls or CRM updates.
Any language that can make HTTP requests works with the Slovio REST API, including JavaScript, Python, Java, PHP, Go and C#. This page shows illustrative examples in cURL, Node and Python. Slovio does not require an SDK; plain HTTP requests with an API key are all you need to get started.
Yes. You can give an AI coding assistant the Slovio API reference and ask it to draft requests or webhook handlers in plain English. Always review the generated code before running it with your API key, test it on a small set of records first, and keep your key out of any prompt or shared file.
The Slovio API reference in the documentation lists the available endpoints, request fields and responses. The requests, paths and event names shown on this page are illustrative examples only. Always build against the API reference, which is the authoritative source for what the Slovio API currently supports.
Create an API key, send a message and receive your first webhook event.
